Fairmined - GOLD TO BE PROUD OF event in San Francisco, CA

When: Thursday October 16, 2014 6:30 PM
Where: Makeshift Society, 235 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
(Between Fell and Oak)

It isn't everyday that Lina Villa, Executive Director of the Alliance for Responsible Mining is in the US, let alone available to sit down with interested jewelers, jewelry wearers, responsible mining activists, and anyone interested and discuss Fairmined certified gold. This is a very special event and Ethical Metalsmiths highly encourages your attendance if you are in the Bay Area.

Few jewelers and consumers know where their metals come from or what impact they have on local mining communities and the environment when buying gold or jewelry. Fairmined is an assurance label that certifies gold from responsible Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) and connects ethical businesses and individuals with certified miners.

Through the Fairmined Initiative, anyone who buys metals has easy access to ethically sourced gold and can support responsibly managed mining communities. Get to know the team of the Alliance for Responsible Mining, find out more about the Fairmined story and be inspired to join the people who work with GOLD TO BE PROUD OF.

If you would like to attend, please confirm by replying to: info@fairmined.org

Jeweler and Ethical Metalsmiths board member, Jennifer Dawes of Dawes Design will be representing Ethical Metalsmiths at this event. Hope you can join us!
